Juan Chabaya Lampe; April 26, 1920 – November 28, 2019, Aruba

Aruban musician and songwriter who recorded and composed for several decades. Aruba Dushi Tera, a waltz he wrote, is now the national anthem of Aruba, and was a rallying cry for independence from the Netherlands Antilles. In 2013, his music was featured in the film Abo So.

At the age of 99, Juan Chabaya Lampe passed away at his home in Oranjestad, Aruba.
